Liberation coaching is a decolonial, non-clinical space for those desiring live with more freedom and alignment with their desire and values. Without diagnosing or treating symptoms, we work in partnership — centering your desire, culture, and ancestral wisdom.

I coach clients who are:
  • Navigating intergenerational histories of colonialism, migration, and political violence
  • Navigating marginalization and systemic oppression - such as racism, classism, ableism, cis-heterosexism, fatphobia, and mononormativity
  • Living between multiple cultures and identities
  • Desiring to reconnect with culture, ancestry and intergenerational history
  • Seeking growth-focused, non-pathologizing support

What we do together:
  • Clarify what freedom and rootedness look like for you
  • Examine internalized narratives that limit your autonomy
  • Reconnect with cultural and ancestral wisdom
  • Make decisions aligned with your values and desire
I invite you to book a free 20min consult with me, where you'd get an idea if we're a good fit for each other. We’ll talk about what you’re seeking, how we might work together, and any questions you may have. I look forward to connecting with you.
My Approach
I’m a first-generation Asian liberation coach in San Francisco with a deep affinity for serving Asians, Asian diaspora, BIPOC, polyamorous, and LGBTQ+ folx, and for intercultural and inter-racial relationships navigating power differentials and cultural differences.

My approach to liberation coaching is shaped by migrations across continents, classes, and disciplines. Before entering the mental health field, I worked for many years in academic STEM environments across Canada, the United States, and Denmark. Originally from British Hong Kong, I have a multicultural lens and awareness of how colonial histories, ancestry, race, class, and gender shape your identities, lived experiences, and relationship dynamics.

Liberation coaching is a non-clinical partnership that is future-oriented and focused on clarifying your desire and centering your autonomy. Rather than locating problems within individual trauma or in clinical diagnoses, I draw from liberation frameworks from the Global South that situate problems within colonial histories, structures of power, and systems of oppression. Liberation coaching thus facilitates both individual and collective transformation.
FAQs
How is liberation coaching different from therapy?
Liberation coaching differs from therapy in that it is:
  • Non-clinical and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions
  • Interdisciplinary, drawing from liberation psychologies, critical and queer theory, black feminisms, and contemplative practices
  • Future- and action- oriented, and centers desire over trauma
  • Available across state lines and worldwide
If you are seeking to treat mental health conditions, psychotherapy would be a better fit.

How often do coaching sessions take place?
Generally, once or twice per week.
I take 4-6 weeks of vacation per year and give advance notice when I do so (except in rare occasions of emergencies or unforeseen illness). I also attend conferences and trainings several times a year, which sometimes require sessions be rescheduled.

What are your fees and policies?
$175 USD/50min (individuals) and $262.50 USD/75min (relationships)
I appreciate advance notice if you can’t make a session and sessions cancelled within 24h of the scheduled time will be charged the session fee.
